SST 410: Overview
SST 410 is the most widely used hardenable stainless steel grade. Commonly called “12 chrome stainless”, SST 410 is hardenable on the Rockwell C scale to the 38-45 range. With the addition of sulfur, SST 416 is created. SST 416 is also known as ASTMA -895 by American Society for Testing and Materials standard specifications.

SST 416 is an excellent grade for the production of fasteners, nuts, bolts and other components that require frequent machining.
