SST 321 - AMS 5510: Turbine Grade Stainless Steel
SST 321 from Skorr Steel is a modification of SST 304. Known as AMS 5510 through Aerospace Material Specifications, SST 321 is stabilized with titanium of at least five times the carbon content to reduce chromium carbide precipitation from welding and exposure to high temperatures.
Oxidation and Scaling Resistance
• A turbine grade stainless steel, SST 321 serves jet engine, turbine, and aircraft manufacturing, as well as pressure valve, firewall and chemical processing equipment. SST 321 will resist scaling, oxidation and ware at temperatures exceeding 800'F .
• Not just a heat resistant, turbine grade of stainless steel, SST 321 will also perform reliably in mildly corrosive environments. Refinery, chemical processing and service markets benefit from Skorr's supply of this grade.
