SST 17-4 PH, SST 15-5 PH and Precipitation Hardening Stainless Steels
Skorr Steel provides SST 17·4 PH, a martensitic chromium-nickel-copper precipitation hardening grade of stainless steel. SST 17- PH is also known as Type 630 and is utilized for high strength requirements and adequate corrosion resistance.
High Strength and Durability
• Though not exclusively, SST 17-4 PH is a grade primarily suited for aircraft manufacturing. FAA approved and aircraft manufacturing machine shops benefit from the durability of this grade. General line machine shops and service centers also utilize this stainless steel for its strength and moderate resistance to corrosion .
• SST 17-4 PH is a precipitation hardening grade, and a variant of SST 15-5 PH. Aircraft manufactures and machine shops also use SST 15-5 PH for its qualities as martensitic chromium-nickel-copper grade, which offers greater toughness through the thickness direction.
